Information We Collect

Website & Web Tools

  • Browser Information: Our Device Specs tool reads browser, OS, screen, and hardware info using standard browser APIs. This data is displayed to you locally and is never transmitted to our servers.
  • Microphone Access: Our Sound Meter tool requests microphone access to measure ambient noise levels. Audio is processed in real-time in your browser and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
  • Website Analytics: We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with our website.
  • Contact Information: If you contact us through our website form, we collect the information you provide (name, email, message and any attachment). Attachments (PNG, JPG, GIF, MP4 or MOV, up to 10 MB each) are optional. The message is stored in our support inbox (Google Firestore) and delivered to us by email through Gmail. We keep support messages for as long as needed to handle your request and for our records, and delete them on request.
  • AI-assisted replies: To help us draft and translate replies to support emails and store reviews, the text of the message is sent to OpenAI (model gpt-4o-mini). Obvious personal identifiers such as email addresses and phone numbers are removed before the text is sent.
  • Location and microphone: The GPS Accuracy and Compass tools use your browser's location or sensor permission, and the Sound Meter and Microphone Test use your microphone, only while the tool is open. The readings are processed in your browser and are not sent to us.

Mobile Apps

  • Device Information: Some of our apps read device specifications to display them to you. Device model, operating system version, app version and language are also sent to Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) as part of analytics events and crash reports.
  • Usage Analytics: Our apps send analytics events to Google Firebase Analytics under a pseudonymous app instance ID (not your name or email) to understand how users interact with our apps, helping us improve the user experience.
  • Crash Reports: If an app crashes, crash data (stack trace, device model and OS version) is sent to Google Crashlytics under a pseudonymous ID to help identify and fix bugs.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide and maintain our website and apps

Cookies & Local Storage

Our website uses local storage to save your theme preference (light/dark mode) and your cookie choice (the key yalintech_consent_v1, value accepted or rejected). Google Analytics only sets cookies if you accept them, or if you are outside the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland and have not rejected them. We do not use advertising cookies.

  • _ga (Google Analytics, first party, 400 days): a random identifier that recognises a returning browser so visits can be counted.
  • _ga_<container id> (Google Analytics, first party, 400 days): stores the state of the current session.

You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Rejecting deletes the Google Analytics cookies and the site works the same without them.

Data Storage and Security

Our web tools process data locally in your browser. Most of what our mobile apps do happens locally on your device, but model, OS version, analytics events and crash data are sent to Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) under a pseudonymous ID, and ads are served through Google AdMob. Data sent over the network is protected with industry-standard encryption.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
